Clients

Set up Apple Mail, Outlook, and Thunderbird

The username is the full mailbox address. Use an app password from the dashboard.

Apple Mail

Add Account, then Other Mail Account. Incoming server mail.mailbelo.com, port 993, SSL. Outgoing server mail.mailbelo.com, port 587, STARTTLS. The username is the full address. Use an app password from the dashboard.

Outlook

Choose IMAP in advanced setup. Same host and ports. Leave “download pictures automatically” off. Read receipts stay off in MailBelo.

Thunderbird

It can read autoconfig. The JMAP session is https://mail.mailbelo.com/.well-known/jmap. MTA-STS is in testing mode.

Ports

IMAP 993 with SSL. SMTP 587 with STARTTLS, or 465 with SSL. The mail host is mail.mailbelo.com.

App passwords

Create one on the mailbox page, copy it once, and paste it into the desktop client. Revoke it there when the device is gone.

What stays off

Remote images are not loaded in webmail. Messages are shown as plain text. A signature is added from the mailbox when you send.

Moving old mail

After the client connects, import a saved message from the Clients page in the app, one file at a time, up to 8 MB.
